The Foreign Language Board of
Review (FLBR), and the State Court Administrative Office (SCAO); approved MiTiN’s request to
extend the due date for interpreters to present evidence of completion of the
Continuous Educational Units (CEU’s) to December 31, 2020.
The SCAO will soon send a formal
announcement to all registered interpreters with additional detailed
information. However, the main notions are:
- As in the past, a total of ten CEU’s will be required for the
annual certification renewal. Interpreters must submit their renewal
request to the SCAO by September 1, 2020, with documentation of the CEU’s
obtained up to that time.
- If 10 CEU’s have not been obtained, interpreters will have until
December 31, 2020, to complete and provide evidence of completion of their remaining
CEU’s. This change allows interpreters four additional months to
complete the required 10 CEU’s.
