How to find a translator or interpreter who best fits your needs of language services
Translators work with written documents. Interpreters work with spoken language. Translators and interprets often specialize in a subject area(s). Interpreters use different modes of interpreting, such as simultaneous and consecutive interpreting.

Interpreters: In general,
Not all translators are interpreters or vice versa. When searching for a translator or an interpreter, make sure which service(s) your needs require – translation or interpreting. Well-defined project or meeting needs will lead you to find a right translator or interpreter. Specific assignments may require involving translators or interpreters with certifications or credentials.
Consecutive interpreting
Consecutive interpreting is a method where the speaker speaks for a limited length of time while the interpreter takes notes and then relays what was said.
Simultaneous interpreting
As its name suggests, simultaneous interpreting is a method where the interpreter interprets as a speaker talks. This method may require a team of interpreters (normally 2 or 3 interpreters, depending on the setting, length, and difficulty level) as they take turns to interpret every 15 to 20 minutes. Also, this requires simultaneous interpreting equipment (e.g. booth, portable equipment) to support both the interpreters and the audience.
